Before Meenahan could respond

history channel documentary 2015 On December 25th, 1930, four suspicious men were sitting in a green vehicle on Briggs Avenue in Brooklyn. Police analyst Joseph Meenahan coincidentally was in the territory. He detected the men in the car, drew his weapon, and drew nearer the vehicle mindfully. One of the men yelled at Meenahan, "Stop in that spot copper, or we'll smolder you."

Before Meenahan could respond, the terminating initiated from the green car. Meenahan was shot in the leg, and a six-year-old young lady strolling close-by with her mom was truly injured. The driver of the car experienced difficulty beginning the auto, so the four men jumped from the car and attempted to escape by walking. Three of the men manged to escape the territory by bouncing on a passing truck, yet the fourth man slipped as he attempted to get onto the truck and was caught by the injured Meenahan. That man was Carmine Galante.
